Our preliminary task was a bit of a disaster in my opinion because even though we didn't break the 180 degree rule and did match on action, the concept was boring which I feel is the reason I feel it was such a let down, but as I said at least we stuck to match on action, the 180 degree rule and we even did an over the shoulder shot, which I would say was the only successful thing.
Overall, I feel that this whole task has been a complete success. Looking back, I thought that it wouldn't turn out well or I'd have a minor part to play, but now, I've seen that I can work in a group where decisions are made together. I think that our concept is quite good as well, the fact that we were able to come up with it ourselves to later find that there is actually a similar real feature film, Sliding Doors. One thing that didn't work was that we would never all be together at the same time unless it was a lesson, but then, there wasn't enough time. There were times that we'd stay at school until four just to get a couple of shots to improve our sequence to meeting up on a Sunday.Compared to my first ever film, this is a major improvement because I know what research has to be done, what codes and conventions need to considered and whether or not it challenges these codes and conventions.
