Our film uses and develops the forms and conventions of real media products.
We researched various codes and conventions for our title sequence.
As we were doing a rom-com, we had to follow the codes and conventions for that type of genre. We first decided the plot by thinking of typical rom-coms. One in particular that is very similar the 'Love on the Line' is Sliding Doors, we actually didn't realize this until a teacher said our title sequence resembled it. I think the fact that the title includes 'Love' shows that it will obviously be in the genre of love or along the lines of that. In the actual title sequence, it isn't until we see a devastated Eddie watching the girl he loves (Jessica) go into the arms of another man (Trevor) that we actually get the gist that it's about love portrayed in a comedic way. We used a tripod for most of our shots and sequence. We used various camera shots such as over the shoulder shots, point of view shots, mid shots and some close ups. We varied it so that the effect it would have on the viewer would b widespread.
Since we used a digital camera, editing wasn't very hard, we didn't use Final Cut Pro but one of our group members used Sony Vegas pro 8 . We weren't allowed to use any copyrighted music so we had to used royalty free music.
As we couldn't go to Eddie's house we had to use a room to shoot the room scene. We were a bit under equipped but we still managed. For our credits, we went onto a site called, DaFont. We chose the font we did because we thought it would fit in well with our chosen genre.
